Clarifying Our Booking Terms

We're not changing the rules. We're making sure they're explained the same way everywhere — on the website, in your conversations with members, and in two short emails going out this week.
This is a clarification, not a change. Nothing about the rules is new.

What actually happened

Two different things, so let's keep them separate:

The Terms of Service itself already got its update — we combined the Membership and Pay As You Go terms into one document and rewrote it in plain language, so it's easier for everyone to read. That's done. It's been live at swingfitacademies.com/terms-conditions since 9 July.

What's happening now is different. We're not changing any rule — we're clarifying how the existing booking rules apply, especially for Play bookings, so members and the team are reading them the same way. Think of it as tightening the explanation, not the policy.

The Play rule, in one place

Play is a 2-hour session for more than one golfer — it is never a way for one person to book solo bay time. If a member is on their own, they book Practice instead: one hour, or two Practice bookings back to back for two hours. This applies every time, no exceptions — we expect coaches, front desk, and members to all follow it.
Here's what happens in each situation — this is what to tell a member if they ask:
1
Guest doesn't show, on the dayFewer than 2 people check in — it's automatically treated as a free 1-hour Practice session. No charge, nothing for you to do.
2
Guest can't make it, known ahead of timeThe member switches their own booking to Practice before the session. Never a problem, doesn't count against them, no charge.
3
Kept as Play with no guestThis is the only scenario where the 250 AED second-hour charge applies. It's what keeps peak-time slots fair for everyone.
Same three scenarios, same wording, on the website and in the member email — apply it consistently.
